NCHRP 350

 non-gating, redirective TL-3 crash cushion system for workzones, the QuadGuard CZ performs effectively with both light cars and high center of gravity pickup trucks for speeds up to 100 km/h (62 mph) and angles up to 20°. During head-on impacts, the QuadGuard CZ System telescopes rearward and crushes a set of staged cartridges to absorb the energy of impact. When impacted from the side, the QuadGuard CZ System redirects the errant vehicle away from work crews without allowing gating.

Compact, modular design accommodates speeds from 25 to 62 mph (40 to 100 km/h). Telescoping Quad-Beam panels provide 30% higher beam strength than three element panels, and a monorail base eliminates the need for anchoring chains and tension cable, providing excellent redirective capability.

The QuadGuard CZ’s quick and easy refurbishment keeps repair costs low (65-70% reusable) after design impact.
