reak-Safe from Transpo Industries is an omni-directional signpost system approved under NCHRP 350 for passenger sized vehicles. Break-Safe provides a full 360 breakaway capability, easy installation and replacement after impact and does not require the frequent inspection for under-torqued bolts allowing signs to “walk off” of their bases. Break-Safe anchors sit flush to their concrete base as opposed to the old-style stub which could snag errant vehicles if improperly set. The illustration shows a “demo unit” including a template for properly placing the anchors in the concrete footing.
